Floods, Trips and Baby 2

This may be the first time I have an actual reason for not updating that is not only good, but understandable. We were flooded out like many others in Nashville on that lovely May 1st. We lost both SUVs, three rooms, everything in our carport, our fence and basically our yard. We have been waiting to hear if we are in the buyout, but it looks as if we are not included in phase one. Since the day of the flood we have been living with my in-laws. Am I thankful to have a place to go, of course....but...living with 5 adults, 1 toddler, 5 dogs and 1 cat is starting to get to me and Kyle too. It's overwhelming and horrible timing! We were some of the few who did have flood insurance and are hoping to start the rebuilding process in July with a move in date in August. It could be a lot worse an we know that...remind us of that if we complain too much!!

We had scheduled to go to the beach on May 28th and decided to continue with that plan. It was a nice break from everything. Britton was very different this year than last! Last year he loved the sand and hated the ocean; this year was the complete opposite. He did well and we did get to spend a couple of hours at the beach in the early morning and then a hour or so at the pool in the afternoon. Vacations at the beach are much different with a toddler in tow! We have plans to return to the beach on July 24th (Britton's 18th month b-day) and stay for a week. We will be able to get pictures again from 30A Studios and are excited to compare those to Britton's picture's from last year at 6 months.

Baby #2 has been giving me lots of sickness and just all over pains. :) What a sweet child! This baby does not kick anywhere as hard or as often as Britton did, so that is a welcomed relief! We went to see Dr. Rupe on the 8th for a check-up and listen to the heartbeat. We were planning on asking for our gender ultrasound and didn't have she told us to come back in two weeks. On Tuesday we went had Ashlin and Jessica watch Britton so we could go to our appointment! I, well actually Kyle and the whole family were hoping for that perfect American family of 4...a girl and a boy. I knew that this pregnancy had been so much different that my first. but with carrying low I had a gut feeling it would be a boy. Sure enough we will be welcoming another baby boy into our family around October 27th! We decided on Foster Buchanan for his name sticking with a first name that is actually a last name and a middle name that honor someone we cherish. Foster's middle name is after my sweet grandmother, M, who passed away a few weeks before we found out we were pregnant with Britton. She was an amazing woman and I think she would be honored to share her maiden name.

Britton and I will be leaving for a week long stay in Denver on Friday. Kyle is unable to go due to work, but Mom will be flying up as well...not on the same flight however. Renee and Sean have not seen Britton since Christmas when he was 11 months so the change is huge! I'm hoping for a peaceful flight full of sleep....let's hope!!
