pretty perfect ♥

This is our precious, sweet, love to dance, and going to be into everything baby Foster.

And this is our wild child who loves to hug and kiss on his Momma, wrestle with Daddy, be creative and would swim & play outside all day long if we'd let him. He also is a pretty awesome destroyer of "monsters" and would do anything to protect his "baby Foster."

We think this is basically perfect...we all need a superhero, after all...who said he couldn't be 2?

william country fair & more

What a crazy, fun and packed weekend we had! My Mom came in on Friday night and our schedule began! :) Britton was due for a haircut so off we went. He still HATES having his hair cut, but we have moved from screaming to pretend crying. After the lovely cut we had dinner at...don't judge....Sweet CeCe's. Yes, we all had yogurt with very unhealthy toppings and syrup for dinner and it was FaBuLoUs!! Britton had his very own bowl, for the first time. A trip to Toys 'R Us was next followed by a Mickey Choo Choo for Britton and a Chatter Elmo for Foster. Mimi spoils these two kiddos way too much. :)

Saturday morning started off early...in fact it started with Foster sampling his brother's juice box AND strawberry Nutri Grain bar. :) Whoops!!

We had planned to go to the last day of the Williamson County Fair and were there right after it opened. The weather started off not too bad and it was not too crowded. As the day went on the crowds came out! The boys had a great time. Britton surprised us all by riding a lot of rides on his own. He got braver after each ride! He really enjoyed the Little Farmers exhibit where he got to pretend to harvest foods, collect eggs, get wool, plant seeds and feed many animals. At the end he was "paid" for his work and allowed to get something from the market. He picked animal crackers and Foster let Britton have his dollar to get a chocolate milk. Britton was in Heaven!! :) After he ate we went to pet the animals! (Those pictures are on Mimi's camera.) He thought it was fun to hold his hand out to touch them, but gross when they tried or did lick him!! We got to watch two clown acts.....Britton was at times amused...they were....we'll come on it's a circus routine at a fair! After we left the fair and had dinner Kyle and I were able to leave the boys at home with my Mom and enjoy the first Titan's preseason game!! We had great seats, the rain held off and we had a win! Great night....Great weekend!! (Thanks for helping this weekend, Mimi!)

Watching the "Circus" show :)

Britton had to collect the correct number of veggies for his basket.
This climbing activity was so HiGh! He was such a champ and did this four or five times!
Britton's last ride of the day. He loved this bee!

I adore this picture and especially the two kiddos in it! I can only hope and pray that this relationship continues to grow in trust and love. For right now....I think it's pretty perfect.

....missing you, Brother Johnson....

I do this every day. There is not a day that has gone by since you passed away, my dear friend, that I do not think of you, of Sister J, of our last conversation, your compassionate smile & servant heart and most of all how much I adore you. I always have adored you, from the very first time we met....
What I would give to hear that laugh just one more time. To watch you walk hand in hand with the love of your life. To give a huge hug to that small frame and soak in the moment with you. It's never easy to let go of someone you love, but I am reassured by the way you lived that you are in His kingdom and so joyful. I long for the day we meet again, Brother J. Until then I will continue to miss you, to reflect on your incredible example and cherish the friendship we shared. I love you, my sweet Jamaican grandfather....

A week at the BeAcH!!

Kyle and I look forward to this particular vacation ever year. We both adore the beach and getting to share it with our boys makes it even more special! This year we decided it would be nice to invite my parents to join us for half the week. Britton and Foster had a great week and enjoyed having Mimi and Pa with them too!

My precious Britton celebrated his half birthday on July 24th! He got lots of Buzz gifts, spent almost all day at the pool, had a good dinner and a huge cupcake to end the night! He kept telling us, "It's my birthday!" He actually said this the entire week. :) Boy knows what a birthday means!!

Kyle and I celebrated our four year anniversary while at the beach, July 28th! This year we were able to go out, just the two of us! :) I know it sounds odd that we would not be alone for our anniversary, but we have spent the past two at the beach with Britton. We were able to see Captain America, eat at Great Southern ( my favorite place in Seaside) and share some drinks together. The boys were already asleep when we got home which was a bonus! I can't believe it has already been four years! What a lucky and blessed girl I am!

We spent a lot of time in Seaside, as usual, and this year did not disappoint! We were able to catch the last part of a band on Wednesday night after our beach pictures. (Look for those professional pics soon!!) Then on Friday night we all ate at the newest airstream called The Meltdown on 30A, which is a grilled cheese place and was fabulous food, horrible customer service that night. :( We stayed at the amphitheatre to see the movie Yogi Bear. I think it is safe to say that the adults thought this movie was bad, really bad, but my 2 year old thought it was great! It had everything he loved in it: animals, water, hats, and choo-choos. When it was over he cried that he wanted to watch the "bears." Needless to say his Mimi came to the rescue and gave him the Yogi Bear movie on Saturday. (Such a spoiled boy! It's those big brown eyes and his little sweet voice that says, "I need it.")

The beach, aka: the sand, was a success this year! It started out being the enemy yet again, but became friendly at our photo shot! Britton found a sand castle from earlier in the day and made friends with the sand as he destroyed the castle, saying he was a monster! :) By the end of our 9 days he was LoViNg the sand! Foster enjoyed the sand too! He didn't pay much attention to it until the last day when I sat him in it with no toys around so I could get some pictures. The sand, wet sand I might add, made it's way into his little fist and then into his mouth...multiple times actually. :) Both of the boys enjoyed the ocean and the pool. Britton called the pool his water and the ocean, well....he asked me whose water it was, I couldn't think of an answer besides Jesus....so it became Jesus' water. He would let us know which water he wanted to visit. :) To be honest as long as he was in water, he was happy, as was Foster. We have two little fish!

Our last night we decided to go eat dinner in Destin. We had to pick somewhere that served something besides seafood, my Mom is not a fan! The Back Porch seemed the easiest pick. We always worry about Britton going out to eat because when he is ready to go then it's time to go, no matter what...according to him! Kyle and I were happily surprised at how well he and Foster did!! In fact Foster even decided to try table food....too bad it was a french fry that he sucked on, ha! Oh well!!

Buying a beer with a baby :) I told Kyle I thought this would be a funny picture. He said he didn't want to be "that guy." :)

Our week ended way too soon, as I guess all vacation does! We had such a fun time and think that Mimi and Pa should join us for half a week next year too. In fact we think Aunt Ne and Uncle Sean should make an appearance!!
